FAQ's
| Q. | How do I order a background check? |
| A. | Background checks can be ordered on-line, via telephone, or facsimile. However, certain inquiries require the submission of the employment application, and a signed release in order to secure the information desired. |
| Q. | Where do I obtain a release? |
| A. | HC&A can provide your company with a release form for your applicant to sign, which complies with the FCRA. |
| Q. | Is there a "national criminal records" check? |
| A. | Yes. However, this type of inquiry requires the applicant to submit fingerprinting and photographs. The information is then forwarded to the FBI in Washington D.C. for analysis. A response to this inquiry can be expected after several weeks. This inquiry is commonly referred to as the "CORI" check or, Criminal Record Inquiry. Due to the length in response time employers do not usually request such searches as they are not only time consuming, but costly. Typically a state wide or county search is preferred. |
| Q. | How will I receive the results of the background check once completed? |
| A. | Each client's requirements differ. We commonly forward our reports via email, facsimile, or US Postal Services. |
| Q. | How do I get started? |
| A. | Contact HC&A and speak with a member of our staff to review your current needs and the types of inquiries you require for your business. Then sit back and let us do the rest. |
